Welcome to the website of artist Maria Mitchell, this accomplished artist was born in Belfast but now lives in Co. Down, Northern Ireland.

The style and content of Maria Mitchell art varies greatly but her bold use of colour, flowers and strong design make it instantly recognisable. Maria’s first collections were based on both Irish landscapes and cityscapes, but over time Maria was inspired by the grace and elegance of the female form and moved onto female figurative portraits.

Maria Mitchell paintings depict specific and often recognisable Irish locations but their particular quality lies in the creation of atmosphere. Her paintings capture the serene to the vibrant and from a traditional feel to the ultra contemporary.

Maria’s art work has been sold both at home and abroad. Her art has been exhibited at a number of sole and group exhibitions and she continues to accept commissions.
